Uttarakhand flood: Google's Person Finder app to help trace missing people


Mumbai: launched the search engine giant Google application "person finder" to provide information on the missing in the flood-affected areas in the country, including the office.

, Google said in a blogpost Google person finder is a Web application that allows individuals to publish research on the status of relatives or friends affected by the disaster.

"Since last week, the state of Uttarakhand in India has been grappling with severe flooding. He added that the tool can help trace people missing in flood-affected areas in the office and is available in both Hindi and English. All data entered into Google person finder is available to the public and searchable by anyone. The program also allows news agencies and non-governmental agencies and others to contribute to the database and receive updates using the Finder API person based on PFIF an open standard.

Floods and landslides caused by monsoon flash anger left more than 150 dead in the disaster-hit Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, while thousands of pilgrims and local residents being rescued from various regions, including in Rudraprayag and Chamoli.
